Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX) postponed the launch of Falcon 9 until "no earlier than Sunday, December 13," as announced on the company's Twitter account on Friday.

Falcon 9 was set to launch the SXM-7 radio communications satellite designed to serve American broadcasting company Sirius' subscribers from the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean area.

The decision to call off the attempt was made about 30 seconds before the launch "to perform additional ground system checkouts."
