Wall Street opens mixed on stimulus passage

United States stock indexes started the first trading session of the week mostly higher with the Senate's approval of the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill in the focus. In other news, Washington and Brussels concluded negotiations on agricultural quotas, which were adjusted following the United Kingdom's departure from the European Union. In business, Microsoft Corp.'s acquisition of ZeniMax Media was okayed by the European regulators.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 0.58%, with Walt Disney Co. advancing 3.71%. The Nasdaq 100 lost 0.18%, with JD.com Inc. dropping 4.34%. The S&P 500 increased just 0.06% as General Electric rose 3.75%.

The euro fell 0.36% against the greenback at 9:29 am ET, changing hands for 1.18730 dollars.
