The major stock markets on Wall Street closed mostly higher on Thursday, reversing some of the intraday losses after the United States President Joe Biden had his first formal press conference, where he announced a new vaccination goal for the country: 200 million administered shots by the 100th day of his administration. The president also fueled the anticipation for the infrastructure bill details as he compared the US to China, where building investments are three times higher.

The Dow Jones rose 0.62% as Boeing grew by 3.40%, while the Nasdaq 100 lost 0.14% led by Baidu plummeting 14.47%. The S&P 500 gained 0.52% with Darden Restaurants climbing 8.19%.

The euro dropped by 0.40% against the dollar, selling for $1.17658 at 4:03 pm ET.
