Google urges the Biden administration to accept an invitation from the European Commission to form an EU-US Trade and Technology council, Google's head of global policy and government affairs Karan Bhatia wrote on Friday.

In a post shared exclusively with Axios, Bhatia stated that a lack of coordination between the US and the EU on tech and trade policy is hurting business. "Trans-Atlantic coordination has largely become an afterthought, if it's thought of at all," Bhatia wrote.

Current policy trends of the Trans-Atlantic coordination hurt both the US and the EU economies and risking 16 million jobs on both sides of the Atlantic, according to the post. They also make it harder for both sides to address new challenges in global technology and partner with emerging Asian economies.
