Bayer says Q1 sales rose 2.8% to €12.33 billion

German pharmaceutical company Bayer AG announced on Wednesday its first-quarter sales rose 2.8% on the year to €12.33 billion.

Meanwhile, the company posted a net income before taxes of €2.7 billion for the three-month period after reporting a loss of €348 million in the same quarter a year earlier.

According to the update, Bayer's earnings per share rose to €2.13 in the first quarter of 2021 while the company confirmed its previously announced outlook as well due to the "successful start" of the year.
