Dow jumps 180 points premarket on jobs data

Stocks on Wall Street rose in premarket trading on Friday with the Dow Jones jumping more than 180 points on rising economic recovery optimism fueled by upbeat jobs data. On Thursday, the US Labor Department said that the number of initial jobless claims fell by 38,000 last week.

Meanwhile, investors also digested earnings from companies including Salesforce, Dell, HP and Costco, and awaited trade balance figures due later in the day.

The Dow Jones climbed 0.54% or 187 points at 4:47 am ET, the Nasdaq 100 added 0.30% and the S&P 500 increased by 0.39% at the same time. The dollar was flat against the euro, going for 1.21967 at 4:48 am ET.
