Volvo Group unveiled on Friday that its car sales for the first half of the year increased 41% when compared to the same period last year, breaking the Swedish car manufacturer's record for most cars sold in the first half of a year.

The company reported that 380,757 cars were sold globally, fueled by strong demand in China, the United States, and Europe, as all regions registered a double-digit annual rise in sales. Month-over-month, global sales gained 11%.

Lastly, Volvo noted that online sales for the first six months of 2021 were up by five times when compared to the same period last year, contributing the overall rise to "rising customer demand in combination with a broadened offer in more markets."
