US markets finish mixed after jobs data

Major stock markets in the United States ended Thursday's trading session mixed with today's employment data in focus. In business news, the FTC filed a new antitrust lawsuit against Facebook Inc., which called the complaint "meritless." Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase registered private Bitcoin funds today. Meanwhile, concerns regarding the new coronavirus variants again put pressure on investors' optimism as three senators reported they have contracted COVID despite being vaccinated.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.19% at the closing bell. Boeing Co. lost 3.12%. The Nasdaq 100 gained 0.51% with Synopsys jumping 8.73%. The S&P 500 increased 0.13% as Bath & Body Works Inc. surged 10.62%.

The euro dropped 0.30% against the dollar at 3:59 pm ET, changing hands for $1.16762.
