European Union's approval of Nvidia Corporation's $54 billion acquisition of British semiconductor and software company Arm Ltd. is not certain, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday, citing unnamed officials from the bloc's regulatory agencies.

Nvidia plans to seek the EU green light for the deal, possibly as soon as today, but Brussels sources told the media outlet that concessions the United States-based tech company had made to ease competition concerns may turn out to be insufficient.

In August, United Kingdom Competitions and Market Authority (CMA) found that the deal raises "competition concerns."
