Nasdaq, S&P end the month at record highs

Wall Street ended Friday's session in the positive territory, with the Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 finishing the week at record highs led by the technology sector.

The day was marked by news that Microsoft surpassed Apple's market cap to become the most valuable public company in the world, after the Californian tech giant reported less-than-expected albeit record fiscal fourth-quarter revenue. Meanwhile, the Food and Drug Administration approved the use of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine in children aged between 5 and 11 years.

The Dow Jones surged 0.25% at the closing bell, with Microsoft soaring 2.24%. The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.46%, led by Atlassian Corp.'s 9.78% jump. The S&P 500 advanced 0.19% to break the 4,600 points mark, as Dexcom surged 9.27%. The euro significantly declined against the greenback, plunging 1.04% to sell for 1.15592 at 3:56 pm ET.
