US opens with gains after CDC cut isolation time

Major stock indexes in the United States opened slightly higher on Tuesday after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) decided to shorten isolation time for people who have COVID-19 but are asymptomatic. In data, S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Indices found house prices in the US grew by 19.1% in October on a yearly basis, while Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) said they increased 1.1% in October compared to the previous month.

The Dow Jones increased by just 0.07% at 9:30 am ET, as Walgreens Boots Alliance gained 1.46%. The Nasdaq 100 added 0.24% at the same time, with Moderna at 2.87%. The S&P 500 was up by 0.09%, also led by Moderna.

The euro traded 0.16% lower against the dollar and went for 1.13104 at 9:31 am ET.
