Mercedes-Benz revenue down 7% to €43.4B in Q4

Mercedes-Benz Group AG said on Thursday that its revenue in the fourth quarter of 2021 amounted to €43.4 billion, falling 7% compared to the same period in 2020.

The company stressed it renamed itself from Daimler to Mercedes-Benz after spinning off the Daimler Truck unit and noted it realized a one-time Group EBIT gain of €9.2 billion from deconsolidation. Net profit soared 255% to €12.7 billion, while net profit from continuing operations fell 27% to €2.4 billion. EBIT stood at €14.6 billion and EBIT from continuing operations amounted to €4 billion.

For full 2021, Mercedes-Benz revenue jumped 9% to €168 billion. "2021 was a year of strategic progress for Mercedes-Benz. Three numbers illustrate how this transformation is gaining traction: Top-end vehicle sales rose by 30%, sales of electric cars surged 64%, and our adjusted EBIT increased by 105%," Chairman Ola Kaellenius stated.
