Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk on Sunday agreed with an article by the Tesmanian News which stated that his company is "streamlining" its operations by making adjustments to the hiring and layoffs of employees.

Earlier this week, Musk said the headcount at Tesla will expand over the next 12 months, despite his leaked email to company executives showing he plans to lay off 10% of salaried employees.

The news comes amid worries about announced high-profile job cuts in the technology industry led by rising inflation rates and slowing demand. Silicon Valley companies have already laid off thousands of workers in recent months, with Facebook's parent Meta Platforms, Inc. recently announcing it is dialing back financial support and hiring for several teams. Likewise, Inc. is freezing most hiring, while Uber Technologies Inc. told workers to treat hiring as "a privilege."
