eBay Inc. announced on Wednesday that it has acquired one of the leading non-fungible token (NFT) marketplaces KnownOrigin.

"With this acquisition, we will remain a leading site as our community is increasingly adding digital collectibles," company CEO Jamie Iannone shared. Meanwhile, co-founder of KnownOrigin David Moore noted that "as interest in NFTs continues to grow, we believe now is the perfect time for us to partner with a company that has the reach and experience of eBay."

The deal was closed on July 21, 2022. However, the company gave no further details on the transaction.
