Mercedes-Benz Q2 revenue up 7% to €36.4B

Mercedes-Benz reported its second-quarter earnings results on Wednesday, noting that the company's revenue annually increased by 7% to reach €36.4 billion. The car giant reported that its earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) were €4.9 billion, an increase of 8% compared to the year before.

The carmaker revealed a net profit of €3.2 billion in the second trimester of 2022, while the earnings per share amounted to €2.91. The number of Mercedes-Benz Cars sold was 487,100 vehicles, slightly below the prior-year level. Compared to the year earlier, the company sold 521,200 units of Mercedes-Benz Vans in the second quarter.

"The team at Mercedes-Benz delivered another strong quarter in an uncertain environment. We are enhancing our vigilance and resilience to manage increasingly complex macroeconomic and geopolitical challenges. At the same time, we have good reasons to remain confident, with ongoing strong demand, a fresh vehicle portfolio, and further key product launches this year," commented Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG Ola Kallenius.
