US opens higher after solid August jobs report

Stock indexes in the United States started Friday's session with gains following the nonfarm payrolls report for August, which showed the US economy added 315,000 jobs, beating expectations. Meanwhile, the G7 agreed to impose a price cap on Russian oil, aiming to implement it by the end of the year, while Moscow vowed not to sell oil to countries setting a cap.

The Dow Jones added 0.80% at 9:30 am ET as Boeing Co. increased by 1%. The Nasdaq 100 grew by 0.81%, with Lululemon Athletica jumping 10.04%. The S&P 500 improved by 0.83% at the same time, led by APA Corp. with 4.26%.

The euro traded 0.52% higher against the dollar and sold for 1.00004 at 9:32 am ET.
