US opens higher on latest data

Stock markets in the United States opened higher on Wednesday after previously trading flat earlier in the day in the premarket session. The country also published its latest data on the trade deficit today, according to which exports marked a slight increase in July, while imports went down by almost 3% on a monthly basis. In addition, investors are also awaiting the Apple Event scheduled for today and the next release of the Federal Reserve's Beige Book.

The major indexes opened mixed, however, they switched to the green zone soon after the opening bell. The Dow Jones went up by 0.32% at 9:50 am ET, as McDonald's Corp rose 1.48%. The Nasdaq 100 increased by 0.82% a minute earlier, with Starbucks Corp rising by 2.66%. The S&P 500 traded 0.50% higher at 9:50 am ET. American Tower Corp increased by 0.36%.

The euro traded flat against the dollar and sold for 0.99012 at 9:26 am ET.
