eBay Inc. announced on Wednesday that its revenue in the third quarter of the year reached $2.4 billion, declining by 5% compared to the same period last year, but still beating expectations. The company saw a net loss of $70 million, in contrast with a net income of $283 million registered in the same trimester in 2021. It also scored diluted losses per share of $0.13 per share, worsening from earnings per share (EPS) of $0.43 noted in the third three-month period the previous year.

"I'm proud of our team and community for remaining resilient in the face of a challenging macroeconomic environment. With the investments we've made in our tech-led reimagination, we're able to provide even more opportunity and value to our customers during these difficult times," Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jamie Iannone said.

eBay's shares soared by 6.70% in after-hours trading after the report was released.
