US markets close in green with midterm elections in focus

United States stock markets closed Monday in the green as market participants prepare for the forthcoming data on inflation to be published this week and ahead of the country's midterm elections.

Tomorrow's elections will decide which party will dominate Congress and influence the direction of future spending. Meanwhile, regarding inflation, investors will be paying close attention to the latest result after the Fed announced its latest rate hike. Finally, today, Tesla gave up 4.3% and hit its lowest level since June 2021.

At the close, the Dow Jones gained 423 points or 1.31%, with Walgreens Boots rising 4.10%. The Nasdaq 100 added 1.11%, while Meta increased by 6.53%. The S&P 500 rose 0.96%, as Viatris rocketed by 13.04%. The euro improved by 0.62% against the dollar at 3:58 pm ET, selling for $1.00200.
