Honda announced the production of an all-new hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) on Wednesday. Production will begin at the Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio in 2024, where the carmaker has manufactured small-volume, specialty vehicles like the Acura NSX. The production of the zero-emissions vehicle is in line with Honda's goal to be fully electric by 2040.

Manager at the manufacturing center Gail May said: "This facility is perfect for the production of a new Honda fuel cell electric vehicle, as our small-volume capability enables us to really leverage the skill and expertise of our team to produce quality zero-emission vehicles here in North America."

Details of the new model are not yet available but are expected to be released nearer the time of production.
