Asia mixed after Fed interest rate decision

Equities on Asian markets traded mixed on Thursday with investors reacting to the United States Federal Reserve saying it decided to keep its interest rates steady in June. The central bank did, however, adjust its headline inflation expectation for 2021, raising it to 3.4%.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng increased by 0.11% at 5:03 am CET, while on the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Composite added 0.24%, with the Shenzhen Composite rising by 0.81%, a minute later.

Japan's Nikkei 225 went down by 1.31% at 4:35 am CET, while the dollar traded 0.06% lower against the yen, going for 110.6425 at 5:05 am CET. The Australian S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.14% at 5:05 am CET, as South Korea's Kospi Composite declined by 0.49% am CET.
