Asia-Pacific higher after data from Japan, China

Major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region registered gains on Tuesday following economic data reports coming from China and Japan ahead of the opening bell. The Kospi Composite climbed 0.39% at 4:29 am CET. The ASP/ASX 200 rose 0.56% at 4:22 am CET despite extended local coronavirus-related lockdowns across Australia.

Both China's manufacturing and services PMI outperformed market estimates over the past month despite making slight monthly declines. The Shanghai Composite rose 0.20% and the Shenzhen Composite gained 0.45% at 4:12 am CET, while the Hang Seng stood flat at 4:27 am CET.

Meanwhile in Japan, the government reported a yearly jump of as much as 22% in May's industrial production. The Nikkei 225 traded unchanged at 4:28 am CET, with the dollar standing flat against the yen at 110.4790.
