Asia mostly higher after upbeat data

Shares in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly above the flatline after the data on the manufacturing sector activity in China topped the analysts' expectations. Meanwhile, Japan's industrial production rose by 22% in May.

In Mainland China, Shanghai Composite increased 0.32% at 07:02 am CET while the Shenzhen Composite grew 0.85% at the same time. Hong Kong's Hang Seng was down 0.11% at 7:18 am CET.

In Tokyo, Nikkei 225 gained 0.12% at 7:18 am CET. The dollar slid 0.06% against the yen at 07:19 am CET, buying ¥110.4570. In South Korea, the Kospi Composite moved up by 0.57% at 07:19 am CET, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 advanced by 0.56% at 7:05 am CET.
