Asian stocks lower as virus fears persist

Shares in the Asia-Pacific region traded with losses on Monday as concerns over the possible wave of COVID-19 infections seemingly impacted the sentiment among the investors.

The Shenzhen Composite lost 0.12% at 07:00 am CET, with the Shanghai Composite declining 0.3% at the same time. Hong Kong's Hang Seng dropped by 1.57% at 7:16 am CET, as South Korea's Kospi Composite dived 0.89%. A minute later, the Australian S&P/ASX 200 was down by 0.81%.

At 7:14 am CET the dollar traded 0.13% lower against the yen, going for ¥109.9330, while Japan's Nikkei 225 lost 1.39% a minute later.
