Asia-Pacific trades mixed, Hang Seng down more than 2%

Equities in the Asia-Pacific region traded mixed on Tuesday, as new Chinese regulations put added pressure on tech and educational companies in the country. Meanwhile, tensions between the United States and China are steadily increasing, while North and South Korea unveiled they plan to reinstate communication channels between the two countries.

The Nikkei 225 gained 0.48% at 7:18 am CET, while the dollar lost 0.16% against the yen trading for ¥110.2125 a minute later. Meanwhile, South Korea's Kospi Composite rose 0.51%, as Australia's S&P/ASX 200 traded 0.49% higher at 7:20 am CET.

In mainland China, the Shenzhen Composite was 0.18% down at 7:22 am CET, while the Shanghai Composite dropped 0.22%. Over in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng dropped 2.10% at 7:23 am CET.
