Asia trades lower after data

Equities on the Asian markets traded lower on Tuesday with investors seemingly reacting to lower than expected economic data. China's National Bureau of Statistics' manufacturing PMI showed the country's factory activity in August disappointing expectations and dropping below the neutral 50, while Japan's industrial production for July fell 1.5%.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite traded 0.44% lower at 4:23 am CET, with the Shenzhen Composite losing 1.09% a minute later. At 4:25 am CET, Japan's Nikkei 225 decreased by 0.23%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell by 1.48% and South Korea's Kospi went 0.22% down.

The Australian S&P/ASX 200 added 0.38%, as the dollar went 0.05% down against the yen, going for ¥109.5655 at 4:26 am CET.
