SocGen posts revenue at €6.5B in Q3, up 9% YoY

Societe Generale SA reported on Thursday its revenue for the third quarter of the fiscal 2018 revenue stood at €6.5 billion, marking a 9% increase compared to the same period of last year.

The French bank's net income stood at €1.25 billion, rising 16.1% year-over-year. Operating income amounted to €1.93 billion, which represents a 33.2% jump compared to the third fiscal period of 2017.

"Our revenues increased due to the confirmed growth in International Retail Banking & Financial Services and the healthy momentum in Financing & Advisory and market activities. The Group pursued its disciplined approach to cost management and the low cost of risk confirms the quality of our loan portfolio," Societe Generale CEO Frederic Oudea said.
