Europe starts lower after coronavirus cases top 1M |

European stocks traded lower on Friday after the global tally of coronavirus cases increased to over 1 million, including over 53,000 deaths while an Australian official warned the real numbers could be up to ten times higher. The DAX opened 0.42% lower at 9 am CET as Muench.Rueckverts.vna lost 2.04% at 9:05 am CET. The FTSE 100 fell 0.41% in the first minute of trading. Financial services firm Legal & General was the worst trading stock on the index as it frll 9.29% at 9 am CET. The CAC 40 was down 0.39% at 9 am CET, with AXA declining 3.47% at 9:02 am CET. The euro declined 0.29% to 1.08249 against the dollar at 9:06 am CET and the pound lost 0.20% compared to the greenback to go for 1.23718 at 9:07 am ET. |
