Air France-KLM S.A. is negotiating to receive a total of €6 billion in loans guaranteed by the governments of France and the Netherlands, media reported on Friday.

The airline is eligible to receive €4 billion in loans in France and an additional €2 billion in the Netherlands from funds aimed to mitigate the economic damage from the coronavirus pandemic, anonymous insiders claimed. The company's press representative only confirmed that Air France-KLM is in constant contact with both governments, without providing any specifics.

France and the Netherlands each own 14% of the airline, which is consulted by BNP Paribas S.A. and Societe Generale S.A on refinancing, the report by Reuters noted.
