SoftBank may sell down T-Mobile shares - report

SoftBank Group Corp. is discussing potentially selling a notable portion of its T-Mobile US Inc. shares to Deutsche Telekom AG, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.

According to tot the media outlet, upon completing the transaction the German telecommunications giant, already the largest shareholder of T-Mobile's stock, would hold over 50% stake in the company, increasing from its current share of 43 percentage points. The Japanese conglomerate would remain a partial owner of the company, with its shares reducing from the current 24%.

Earlier, SoftBank announced it plans to buy back 135 million shares in the period starting May 18, 2020 through March 31, 2021.
