DAX closes lower amid COVID worries

The DAX ended the trading session lower on Wednesday as the worries over the spread of the coronavirus in Germany took hold among traders. The country's Health Minister Jens Spahn asserted that, due to the current situation regarding the outbreak, the return to normal is not yet in sight.

The trading ended early due to the holiday working hours of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange which will be closed tomorrow as well. The annual growth of the benchmark landed at 3.55%.

The DAX dropped 0.31% at the closing bell, with MTU Aero Engines down by 1.98%. The euro advanced 0.29% compared to the dollar, selling for 1.22852 at 2:46 pm CET.
