International Olympic Committee chief, Thomas Bach, told Kyodo News in an interview the Tokyo Olympic Games will be held this summer, denying reports that suggested otherwise.

He noted that the event, which was initially scheduled for 2020 but moved due to the coronavirus, will go on as planned and that there is currently no reason to believe that the Olympics in Tokyo will not open on the 23rd of July.

"There is no plan B and this is why we are fully committed to make these games safe and successful," said Bach.
