GM to announce more EV production at Factory ZERO

General Motors Company said on Monday it will formally announce its intentions to launch additional production of electric vehicles (EVs) at its Factory ZERO plant, formerly known as the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center, on April 6.

The automaker recently took more steps to support its electric vehicle output, as it reached a next-generation battery production deal with SolidEnergy Systems. The company plans to build only electric vehicles by 2035.

Following the news about the expanded EV production at Factory ZERO, GM's stock was 4.78% up, going for $60.56 at 1:34 pm ET.
