Eurozone annual inflation up to 1.3% in March

The euro area's annual inflation rate rose to 1.3% in March, improving by 0.9% since February, in line with analysts' expectations, Eurostat revealed in its report released on Friday. In the European Union solely, the figure rose by 1.3% month-on-month.

The highest monthly contribution to the annual rate came from services, with 0.57%, followed by energy with 0.43%, food, alcohol and tobacco with 0.24%, and non-energy industrial goods with 0.09%.

The highest annual rates were observed in Poland with 4.4%, Hungary with 3.9%, and Romania and Luxembourg with 2.5%. Meanwhile, the lowest rates were noted in Greece with negative 2.0%, and Portugal, Malta, Ireland and Slovenia with negative 0.1%.
