The European Medicines Agency (EMA) revealed on Friday it will announce a ruling on the safety of the Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine "relating to cases of thromboembolic events" on Tuesday, April 20.

The medicine regulator specified that a "preliminary" timing for the beginning of "a virtual press briefing on the conclusion of the evaluation of a safety signal with COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen" is 5 pm CET, according to AFP. Janssen Pharmaceuticals is the Netherlands-based subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson and the developer of its COVID-19 vaccine.

United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices delayed its decision on a similar matter, with health experts saying that it will reconvene next week.
