International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach (pictured) stated on Wednesday that the organization is ready to send additional medical staff to the Tokyo Olympic village in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among participants.

During a press conference after a meeting with Tokyo officials, Bach asserted that approximately 75% of the Olympic village residents will be vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Pfizer Inc. unveiled earlier that it will provide vaccines for the athletes and the accompanying delegations in the Tokyo Olympic Games.
