US, S. Korea reaffirm denuclearization goal

Foreign Ministers of the United States and South Korea, Antony Blinken and Chung Eui-yong, reaffirmed their commitment to achieving full denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula during their meeting on the margins of the G7 summit in Cornwall.

The South Korean Foreign Ministry noted Blinken and Chung agreed to work on encouraging North Korea to return to denuclearization negotiations.

According to the ministry, the two officials also "agreed to flesh out the outcome of the summit by faithfully implementing follow-up measures in various areas, including vaccines, cutting-edge technologies, supply chains and atomic energy."
