The United States and the European Union agreed to halt the trade war over providing subsidies to Boeing and Airbus for the next five years, Politico reported on Tuesday citing European officials familiar with the negotiations.

The agreement will remove the risk of retaliatory tariffs after a 17-year trade war, while also setting a list of principles to avoid over-subsidization.

The official announcement will be made at the upcoming joint press conference by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and US President Joe Biden later today, the report added.
