The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) announced on Wednesday that it expects the European Medicines Agency (EMA) to approve its Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine within the next two-month period.

The RDIF issued a statement, noting that it received a "positive review" from the EMA, and dismissing reports that the agency intends to postpone its decision on the Russian jab.

The fund previously touted Sputnik V as the most efficient shot against the Delta variant of the virus. So far, the European health watchdog has approved COVID vaccines developed by Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson.
