The British Trade Ministry revealed on Friday that the government plans to reach a "fantastic" trade deal with New Zealand in August.

"Both countries are confident that the remaining issues will be resolved, with talks on track to deliver a fantastic agreement... Negotiating teams will now accelerate talks and spend the coming weeks finalizing details with the aim of reaching an agreement in principle in August," the ministry noted in a release that followed the meeting between Trade Minister Liz Truss and her New Zealand counterpart Damien O'Connor.

The United Kingdom previously reached a trade deal with Australia, the first major bilateral trade agreement since leaving the European Union.
