Europe closes higher on recovery optimism

Major stock markets in Europe closed higher on Thursday, as investors were bolstered by the latest upbeat economic news. In Germany, the latest research showed that sentiment among businesses improved in June, while the Bank of England stated they will keep its current interest rates. Meanwhile, the European Central Bank noted that favorable financial conditions are the key to maintaining economic confidence.

The DAX closed 0.85% higher, with Heidelbergcement AG trading 2.80% up. The FTSE 100 improved 0.60% at the close, as Anglo-American plc inclined 3.42%. The CAC 40 ended the session 1.24% in the green, led by Capgemini rising 2.83%.

The euro stood flat against the dollar trading for $1.19293 at 5:33 pm CET, while the pound declined 0.39% against the greenback going for $1.19293 at the same time.
