Japan will donate one million doses of a COVID-19 vaccine developed by AstraZeneca plc to Taiwan, and the same number to Vietnam, Tokyo Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi (pictured) stated.

In the future, Japan could make a similar arrangement with Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines, Motegi said during a press conference.

Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga previously forecasted that the country will be able to grant access to a vaccine to all citizens by October.
