Europe opens higher with data in focus

Major stock markets in Europe opened higher on Thursday, with traders focusing on several economic reports unveiled throughout the day. Germany, the United Kingdom, and the Eurozone will see their latest results in manufacturing, while the latter will also get an update on its unemployment rate. Earlier, Germany observed a monthly rise in May's retail sales.

The DAX opened 0.57% higher as Allianz SE expanded by 1.07%. The FTSE 100 went up by 0.65%, with Associated British Foods PLC gaining 3.88%. The CAC 40 increased by 0.65% as Societe Generale SA grew by 2.23%.

The euro dropped by 0.06% against the dollar at 8:57 am CET, selling for $1.18503. A minute later, the pound sterling lost 0.10% to the greenback to change hands for $1.38174.
