GM announces plan for third electric pickup

General Motors Company unveiled on Monday plans for a third electric pickup, after its GMC Hummer EV and the electric Chevrolet Silverado, as the car manufacturer doubles down on the electric vehicle market.

This latest car from GM will be an electric full-size pickup for its GMC truck and SUV brand, with the car being a more traditional pickup than the Hummer EV. Global head of GM Duncan Aldred shared his enthusiasm for the entire electric vehicle sphere, saying that he is confident GM "will be a big winner in this space" and asserted that this latest pickup is in the "pretty advanced" stages of planning.

This electric pickup is a part of the $35 billion investment into the electric vehicle market that GM had previously announced. While, the Detroit manufacturer took a bit of a stumble in this sphere earlier this week, it is still set to set new trends in the market, with the Hummer EV being among the first electric pickups on the market.
