Deutsche Bank reported on Wednesday that its total net revenue for the second quarter of the year stood at €6.2 billion, dipping around 1% when compared to the same period last year. This is the best second-quarter report since 2015.

At the same time, the bank's profit increased by €767 million year-over-year, going from €61 million to €828 million. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank's profit before tax rose by more than €1 billion, climbing to €1.2 billion.

Christian Sewing, Deutsche Bank Chief Executive Officer, commented on the results: "Our pre-tax profit of € 1.2 billion in the second quarter demonstrates that we’re well on the path toward our goal for a post-tax RoTE1 of 8% next year. All our businesses have contributed to the year-on-year profit growth, gained further relevance for our clients, and continued to capture market share."
