Airbus SE announced on Thursday its revenue in the second quarter of 2021 came in at €14.18 billion, observing an annual rise of 70% and topping analysts' expectations. The company's net income improved from the loss of €1.438 billion reported the year before to €1.869 billion. Its earnings per share (EPS) came in at €2.38, a significant change from the losses per share of €1.84 registered in the second trimester of 2020.

In the first half of the year, the company grossed €24.6 billion, 30% more than in the same period last year. Meanwhile, its adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) stood at €2.7 billion, improving from the loss of €945 billion noted in the first semester of 2020.

"These half-year results reflect the commercial aircraft deliveries. [...] Although the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the numerous actions taken by the teams have delivered a strong H1 performance. This enables us to raise our 2021 guidance although we continue to face an unpredictable environment," Airbus Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Guillaume Faury remarked.
