Europe opens higher amid data releases

Major stock markets in Europe opened higher on Monday ahead of the latest reports on manufacturing activity in Germany, the European Union, and the United Kingdom. Earlier, Germany revealed its retail sales observed in June annual growth of 6.2% and a monthly rise of 4.2%.

The DAX opened 0.56% higher as Adidas AG increased by 1.68%. The FTSE 100 went up by 0.79%, with Melrose Industries PLC surging by 4.40%. The CAC 40 advanced by 0.64% as AXA SA progressed by 3.54%.

The euro gained 0.12% against the dollar to sell for $1.18828 at 8:27 am CET. A minute later, the pound sterling rose by 0.08% against the greenback, changing hands for $1.39172.
