Europe closes higher ahead of US infrastructure bill voting

Major stock markets in Europe closed higher on Tuesday in anticipation of the United States Senate's vote on the proposed bipartisan infrastructure bill worth $1.2 trillion. Earlier, the United Kingdom announced it vaccinated 75% of its adult population against COVID-19.

The DAX traded 0.21% higher at the close as Covestro AG advanced by 1.90%. The FTSE 100 rose by 0.43%, with Flutter Entertainment PLC surging by 7.81%. The CAC 40 gained 0.19% as ArcelorMittal SA expanded by 3.11%.

The euro lost 0.11% to the dollar to sell for $1.17229 at 5:27 pm CET. The pound sterling stood flat against the greenback a minute later to go for $1.38451.
