European stocks open flat with data in focus

Major stock markets in Europe started Wednesday's trading session around the flatline as investors analyzed the British inflation data released by the country's Office for National Statistics. A report on housing prices is set to be released later today.

The FTSE 100 and the CAC 40 were unchanged at the opening bell. In the United Kingdom, Antofagasta plc was up 1.25% while Stellantis increased 0.65% in France. The DAX gained just 0.07% at the same time. Covestro AG was the best performer, climbing 0.44%.

The euro rose 0.09% against the dollar to sell for $1.17195 at 8:59 am CET. The pound was flat versus the greenback at $1.37469.
