UK concludes Moderna effective COVID booster jab

The United Kingdom Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) issued a statement on Tuesday saying that it has concluded, alongside the Commission on Human Medicines, that the Moderna Inc. coronavirus vaccine can be used as a "safe and effective" booster shot. Furthermore, the regulator noted that even a half dose of the vaccine is enough to give an antibody boost.

The watchdog also noted that coronavirus vaccines are safe to be used alongside the flu vaccines and that an individual's immune system responds to both vaccines equally. The UK has recently been upping its vaccine rollout plan, with booster shots being offered from next week and school children ages 12 to 15 also beginning to get vaccinated.
